- About CLS The Coalition for the Life Sciences(CLS) is a coalition of five professional scientific societies representing more than 60,000 educators, advocates, clinicians, and researchers in the fields of genetics, cell biology, neuroscience, biology, and many medical specialties. The CLS was formed in 1990 to bring scientists together to advocate for responsible federal policies for biomedical research.
- Online Advocacy Center The CLS has introduced a new online advocacy center which allows scientists to send a personalized letter to their Member of Congress with only a few clicks and a takes a matter of seconds. The resource also provides biographies of Representatives and Senators, voting records, summaries and status of legislation and a media guide to help scientists be effective advocates.
- CLC The Congressional Liaison Committee (CLC) of the CLS is a direct link for bench scientists to public policy and legislative information affecting biomedical research funding and policy. Members are informed through email alerts when action is needed to affect legislative initiatives.
